Introduction

This blog covers a journey I took with my husband from October 2, 2014 through November 8. We spent a week in DC and a week in London. Then we took back-to-back cruises on the Emerald Princess. The first cruise went from Southampton to the Canary Islands and back. The second cruise went from Southampton to Ft. Lauderdale via France, Spain, Portugal, the Azores, and Bermuda.

I try to write my blogs in real time, but that usually doesn't happen. I try to make a few notes at the very least, and then flesh out the writing later on. When I am onboard a ship my internet is limited and very slow, so I usually don't upload photos. When I get home I will add a large number of photos to my blog. It's a good idea to check back every now and then to see what's new. I sometimes fiddle with the dates of the postings so that the postings can be viewed in chronological order as we traveled, and not in the order in which they were published or edited. Therefore, it will be a little tricky to tell what is new.

Why do I blog?

I do it primarily to keep a record of our travels.
I do it to share our travels with friends.
I do it to vent.
I do it because I find that putting something down in writing forces you to think about it more, helps you to clarify your thoughts and feelings, and is good mental exercise.

I love it when people post comments on the blog.

You can choose to "follow" this blog. I'm not sure whether that will give you notifications every time I publish a new post or edit an old post. I will have to look that up when I get home.
